Ouch, I did not know they did that to otherkin and therians too. I thought that since they're more animalistic and animals are factually known for doing unfavorable things they'd be a bit more lenient, but I guess that kind of thinking has spread everywhere.
There are a few older forum communities still going, although they tend to be few and far between these days and subject to their own problems (occasional dismissal of fictionkin, low activity, geared towards a particular subgroup, etc.) Honestly, the further away they are from the larger and more mainstream otherkin and fictionkin communities on tumblr I notice the more tolerable they become.
My first exposure to what I would consider a grounded community was the Werelist? It's not really made for otherkin with past life memories or things of that sort, but if you're animalistic or bestial in any manner it's a breath of fresh air, though they tend towards a more aspiritual framework due to this. Generally if the community allows healthy debate, questioning, and growth they're normal and grounded.
